A large Princeton contingent was on hand Saturday at Diddle Arena as Western Kentucky University retired the jersey of the late Dwight Smith.
Smith was a star at Princeton Dotson High School before being a major cog in some of the best teams ever at WKU.
Smith died, along with his sister Kay, in May of 1967, following his senior season on The Hill.
Representing the Smith family during the ceremony at halftime of the Hilltoppers’ win over UTEP were Dwight’s surviving siblings Greg Smith, Tony Smith and Sheila Smith Anderson.
