Logan County Overpowers Lady Colonels

Offensive struggles for the Christian County Lady Colonels were the story of the night Tuesday as the Lady Colonels dropped a 62-38 road decision at Logan County. The win was the 4th in a row and 5th in the last six games for the Lady Cougars.

The Logan County defense limited Christian County to just ten points in the opening quarter. That was the same number of points that Gracie Borders scored on her own as the Lady Cougars took a 20-10 lead after the opening quarter.

Christian County continued to struggle to find the basket in the second quarter while Logan County’s offense kept rolling along, which was a really tough combination for the Lady Colonels. The Lady Cougars extended their lead to 40-21 at the half.

The Lady Colonel defense was able to rein in Logan County in the third quarter. The problem for Christian County was that the offense continued to have its struggles. As the quarter ended, Logan County led 52-31.

The pattern from the third quarter carried over into the fourth. Christian County limited Logan County to just ten points in the final quarter but could manage just seven of their own.

Two players reached double-figures for Christian County. Anaysia Bagwell and Lazarie Daniel had 11 points each.

Gracie Borders finished with 15 for Logan County. Nora Epley added 14 points.

The loss drops Christian County to 10-13, while the Lady Cougars improve to 16-10.
