The Warren East boys’ basketball team used a third-quarter run to take control on Tuesday and spoil Todd County Central’s Senior Night with a 65-56 victory.

The Rebels were looking to avenge a three-point overtime loss to the Raiders back in December, but instead, slipped to 15-11 with a 13th-District matchup with Russellville coming up on Friday.

Todd Central’s Trayvon Foster followed a steal and dunk by Jamison Glass with four-straight points to give the Rebels a four-point advantage, and they led by a point after the opening quarter.

Warren East took a four-point lead in the second after Ka’Jarius Barber scored in the paint with five minutes left in the half.  However, the Rebels answered with a 9-2 run to regain the lead, and the teams were tied at 30-30 at halftime.

The Raiders led by as many as five points early in the third, but the margin was just a point after Rebels’ senior Preston Rager knocked down a corner three.  Warren East responded with the decisive run to close the frame, outscoring Todd Central 8-1 to lead 50-42 after three quarters.

Warren East led by as many as 14 before Rager connected on a three with 5:09 left to play.  Foster was fouled on the next possession, and Warren East was issued a technical foul to open the door for the Rebels.

Foster hit three of four free throws to cut it to eight, but the Rebels came up empty on the ensuing possession and could only get as close as seven the rest of the way.

Rager and Glass both scored 18 points to lead the Rebels, and Foster finished with 15.

Isaiah Andrews had 17 for the Raiders, Barber scored 14, and Roger Duncan scored 11.
