With two new district opponents as a result of the recently announced realignment for Kentucky high school football, the 2023 football schedule for the Todd County Central Rebels looks a bit different than in recent seasons. Coach Josh Robins recently announced his schedule for the upcoming season.

While the Rebels remain in the same district in Class 2A, Butler County, McLean County, and Hancock County move up and out of the district. With those moves, Fort Campbell and Edmonson County will join the Rebels and the Owensboro Catholic Aces to comprise the district in 2023. With a four-team district, everyone will qualify for the Class 2A playoffs at season’s end.

The Rebels faced Fort Campbell in 2022, but the game was not a district matchup. Edmonson County will be a new face on the 2023 schedule.

There are other new faces on the schedule in addition to the Wildcats. The schedule sees the return of the Russellville Panthers, who the Rebels played as a replacement game in 2021 and then scrimmaged in 2022. Ohio County, Stewart County, and Warren Central are new to the Rebels’ schedule this fall.

Todd Central will open the season with back-to-back road games at Monroe County and Ohio County. The Rebels will close out the regular season by hosting Warren Central. Todd Central’s bye week falls on October 13.

Todd Central finished the 2022 season at 5-6, falling to Mayfield in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.
