Pinpoint FT Shooting Sends Dawson Springs Past HCA

Dawson Springs’ accuracy at the free throw line proved to be the difference in its 62-51 home win over Heritage Christian Academy Tuesday.

The Panthers hit 22-of-23 from the line compared to 5-of-12 for HCA.

Montgomery Johnson was 11-for-11 at the stripe and finished with 17 points. Jaydon Plunkett was 8-for-8 and scored 18 points to go with seven rebounds.

Dawson Spring also knocked down 6-of-11 from 3-point range.

Carlos Robles scored 22 points for the Warriors and added 10 rebounds. Jason Leek scored 16 points, and Trentin Fowler chipped in with seven points.

Heritage Christian finished with a 6-14 record against KHSAA opposition as it makes the full-time move next year. The Warriors now get ready for KCAA postseason play as the top seed in the Super Region to be played at Oak Ridge Christian Academy.

Dawson Springs will host Lyon County Thursday.
