Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A’ — Christian County’s Gracie Harned

She was one of the top ‘big’ hitters in the Christian County Lady Colonel’s lineup during the 2022 softball season, leaving the yard six times. She was also the #2 pitcher for the Lady Colonels and figures to hold down the #1 spot for the 2023 season. And, even with all of her on-the-field accomplishments, she is also an accomplished student and person off the field. It is that aspect of her educational career that gets Gracie Harned in the spotlight as the Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

Gracie excels in the classroom at Christian County High School. She currently has a 4.25 GPA. Yes, I did say a 4.25 GPA. So she is one smart cookie. She is a candidate for this year’s Governor’s Scholars program. Gracie is also a part of the Gifted and Talented program at Christian County.

Even more impressive with her GPA is that it comes with her taking a selection of Advanced Placement Courses.

She is also taking classes at Hopkinsville Community College as part of the dual credit program.

Her excellence in the classroom has led to her being selected to the All-Academic team for softball each year since 7th grade.

Gracie Harned – Right

Gracie is also active in the school community at Christian County High School. She is a member, and serves as the secretary, of the National Honor society. The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character.

She is a member of the Beta Club as well. Founded in 1934, Beta is an academic honors program with a strong emphasis on leadership and community service.

Also on the list of her extra-curricular activities is her membership in the Spanish Club.

Gracie does a good bit of volunteer work in her school community, working at school fall festivals, working in concession stands, and volunteering at Academic Team meets. Out in the community, Gracie has been involved with the bell-ringing campaign conducted by the Salvation Army.

She also attends Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Gracie is a voracious reader, having read some 70 books since last summer.

As for her future plans after school. Gracie tells us that she would like to be a teacher. And, with what we know about her, she is gonna be a great one.

On the field and off the field, Gracie Harned is truly one of the special ones, and she is in the spotlight as a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
