Former Lyon County softball standout Calista Collins is off to a solid start in her freshman season at Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights wrapped up a weekend trip to Mobile, Alabama, with their season record to date at 8-2.
Collins has started every game so far for Rutgers. Through the first ten games, she is 7 of 21 for a .333 batting average. She has a double, a triple, and four RBIs. Her slugging percentage stands at .476.
She is also playing well in the field for the Scarlet Knights. Through the first ten games, Collins has a fielding percentage of .967.
Rutgers heads to Charleston, South Carolina this week to take part in the College of Charleston tournament.
