After a turnover-plagued first half in Tuesday’s 13th-District semifinal matchup with Russellville, the 2nd-seeded Todd County Central Rebels found their groove in the second half and pulled away for a 63-41 victory.  Jamison Glass led all scorers with 27 points to give the Rebels a shot at their first district title since the 2017-18 season.

Eli McMurray got off to a quick start with seven first-quarter points for Russellville.  The Rebels got five each from Glass and Trayvon Foster, but they trailed by a point after Nick Woodard’s floater to close the frame.

Errant passes tripped up the Rebels in the second quarter, and Russellville took advantage to lead 22-18 with just under two minutes left in the half.  However, the Rebels closed on an 8-0 run, beginning with Hayden Strader’s three-pointer and ending with a three-point play by Glass, for a 26-22 Rebel edge at the break.

Just as they did in the second quarter, the Rebels held Russellville to only nine points in the third.  The margin reached ten points on a drive by Strader, and Todd Central took a 41-31 advantage into the fourth.

The Rebels opened on an 11-0 run to make things comfortable the rest of the way.  Glass scored 12 points over the final eight minutes and gave Todd Central its biggest lead of the game at 63-36 with a pair of free throws with 1:29 left.

Glass finished 13 of 16 from the line, highlighting a 20 of 26 effort by the Rebels.  Preston Rager and Foster both joined Glass in double figures with 13 points each.

Todd Central improved to 18-11 ahead of Friday’s title matchup with top-seeded Franklin-Simpson.  The Wildcats knocked off the Rebels in last season’s championship game and took both regular-season meetings this year.
