The search for a new boys’ basketball coach at University Heights Academy is now underway. The school announced Tuesday evening that Melvin Brown would no longer be “part of the UHA basketball program” following his arrest on federal charges Tuesday morning.
Brown was 28-26 in two seasons with the Blazers, including winning the 2023 2nd Region All A Classic championship. He was also named the 2023 2nd Region Coach of the Year.
Other than the statement about Brown no longer being a part of the program, no details have been announced concerning the timetable for hiring a new head coach for the program.
UHA is set to return twelve players from this year’s roster for the 2023-2024 season.
