Pairings are now set for the girls’ 2nd Region tournament which will be played next week at Union County High School. Action gets underway Monday night and Tuesday night with the opening round games.
Monday night’s schedule finds Hopkins County Central (23-8), champions of the 7th District, taking on 6th District runner-up Webster County (10-20) in the 6pm games. The Lady Storm won both matchups between the two teams this season.
The second opening round game Monday night will have 5th District champ Crittenden County (23-5) matched up against 8th District runner-up Hopkinsville (8-14). The two teams did not meet during the regular season.
Action resumes Tuesday night with two more first-round games. The 6pm contest will have Christian County (15-13), winners of the 8th District, squaring off against 5th District runner-up Livingston Central (12-18). The teams did not play during the regular season.
The final first-round game Tuesday night will have Henderson County (23-4), the 6th District champions, taking on Madisonville-North Hopkins (19-11), runners-up out of the 7th District. The Lady Colonels won the only meeting between the two teams this season.
The semifinals of the tournament will be played Friday night at 6:00 and 7:30, with the championship game set for Saturday night at 6pm.
Tickets for the tournament will be $10.00 each and will be available through Go Fan.
