Kentucky All-American sprinter Chloe Abbott is also a singer, model and actress but she wants to make the 2024 U.S. Olympic team.

Former Kentucky track standout Chloe Abbott is also a singer, model and actress who dreams of making the 2024 U.S. Olympic team as well as one day appearing on Broadway as an actor/singer.

She had a choice to be on NBC-TV’s “The Voice” in 2021 but turned down the opportunity to be part of the singing reality competition where the winner is determined by viewers voting in various ways. The winner gets cash and a record deal.

This year’s competition debuts on March 6 but Abbott’s audition could air then or on March 13.

“I am just super excited,” said Abbott, who now lives in Los Angeles. “This is huge for me. I have always loved to sing. I have done national anthems, other gigs, and cover songs. I am still a professional athlete pursuing my dream to be in the 2024 Olympic Games.”

Abbott, a Purdue transfer, was a collegiate all-American in the 400-meter dash and thought she could make the 2021 Olympic team. She didn’t and also ran poorly in the World Championships that year.

“It wasn’t my time (for the Olympics) I kind of had to pull up my big girl ptas and get ready for the World Championships which did not go well,” Abbott said. “I learned this entire journey of being a professional athlete is not always about winning. How do you show up when things are not going great and how much can you commit when you are losing.

“I have been learning more life lessons than winning. That is not what I expected coming out of college. It’s not the professional career I expected so far but I have accepted what my reality is but I can still keep striving for my goals.”

She wants to be on the 2024 U.S. Olympic team. It will also be the year for the World Championships again. However, she was not going to pass up a second chance to be on “The Voice.” She was living in Kentucky in 2021 when she got a call from the TV show. She auditioned for the show and made it through the process but her heart told her to stick with track.

“The Voice was a dream for so long for me but so was being in the Olympics for 2021,” she said. “I told the producers thanks for getting me to the blind auditions but I put all my eggs into the Olympic basket. I did the track thing and put my passion for singing on hold. I was not going to do that again this year.”
