It was a nice preseason performance for the Trigg County Lady Wildcats and new head softball coach Monty Todd Monday evening. The Lady Wildcats scored in four of their six at-bats in picking up a 15-4 scrimmage win at Clarksville Northeast.

Trigg County scored one run in the first, four in the second and five in both the third and fifth innings. Northeast scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Madilynn Smith and Tember Oliver, a pair of 8th graders, each had two hits to lead the Lady Wildcat attack at the plate. Emma West drove in three runs. Kaylin Keller was 1-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Trigg County used nine hits to score their 15 runs. The Lady Wildcats also took advantage of five Northeast errors.

In the circle, Oliver went five innings, giving up three earned runs on three hits, striking out nine while walking only one. Seventh grader Lily Eagleson worked the final inning for Trigg County.

The Lady Wildcats will officially get the season underway Monday when they go on the road to take on Russellville.
