UHA Picks Up 11-1 Scrimmage Win Over Trigg County

Tuesday evening for a preseason scrimmage against 2nd Region foe Trigg County. The Blazers got a solid pitching performance from a quartet of hurlers as they took an 11-1 win in the seven-inning contest.

UHA scored two in the first and one in the second to take an early 3-0 lead. A pair of runs in the fourth extended the margin to 5-0. After Trigg County plated a run in the fifth, the Blazers put things away with six runs in the bottom half of the 6th inning.

Jaiden Miles, Josh Pace, Jackson Flynn, and Luke Shouse combined to limit the Wildcats to just one run on three hits over the seven innings. The four combined to pick up four strikeouts and allow just one walk.

At the plate, Ryan Luckey and Ty Hunt had two hits each, with each one having a double among their two hits. Hunt led the Blazers with 3 RBIs.

Trigg County was led by Aaron Despain, who went 1 for 2 with a run scored.

Wildcat pitchers battled control issues throughout the scrimmage, giving up nine walks over six innings.

UHA will open the season Monday by hosting Henderson County.

Trigg County gets things started Monday as they host Hopkins County Central.
