For the second time in their two preseason scrimmages, UHA hung up double-digit runs on the scoreboard as they handled Mayfield Friday. The Blazers scored in all but the 4th inning as they defeated the Cardinals 15-5 in the six-inning contest.
The Blazers were the beneficiary of 17 walks from seven different Mayfield pitches.
Ryan Luckey and Jackson Flynn had two hits each for the Blazers. Luckey also had three RBIs. The other UHA hits came from Ty Hunt and Gavin Laronge.
Ian Tyler got the start on the mound. He pitched two innings, giving up no runs on one hit, striking out three while walking none. Nic Luckey, Bryson Turner, and Aiden Jones also saw time on the hill for the Blazers.
UHA will open the season Monday hosting Henderson County.
