For a varsity debut, it was a pretty good start. Christian County 8th grader Jordan Turner made her first start in the circle for the Lady Colonels and would end up pitching part of a combined no-hitter with Gracie Harned as Christian County picked up a 10-0 five-inning home win over Fort Campbell on another brutally cold evening.

Turner pitched two innings, striking out four and walking one. Gracie Harned then pitched the final three innings, striking out five and walking two.

The Lady Colonels would get all the runs they would need in the bottom of the first when they scored five runs. They added two in the second, two more in the third, and one more in their final at-bat in the bottom of the fourth.

Freshman Haley Petterson had a big game at the plate, going 3-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. LaiLai McGregor and Avery Adcock had two hits apiece for the Lady Colonels, who pounded out 11 hits in their four at-bats. Seven different Lady Colonels had an RBI in the game.

Freshman Carrie McCrary went the distance in the circle for the Lady Falcons. She gave up ten runs, only seven of them earned, striking out five while walking two.

Christian County (2-0) hosts University Heights Thursday evening.

Fort Campbell (0-2) will host Hopkinsville Thursday evening.
