Senior Ben Stone doubled, tripled, and one was one of three players to drive in three runs Thursday, as the University Heights Academy baseball squad continued its hot start by defeating Fort Campbell 15-0 in three innings.

Stone, Ty Hunt and Ian Tyler each racked up three RBI in the 8th District rout. The trio also combined to go 5-for-7 with five runs scored. The Blazers ran their record to 3-0 to begin the 2023 campaign. It’s the first time they’ve started a season with a three-game winning streak since 2014.

UHA, which has outscored its opponents 32-4, exploded for 13 of its runs in the first inning and never looked back. Jackson Flynn, who drew three walks and did not record an official at-bat, scored twice and drove in two runs.

On the mound, Luke Shouse, Josh Pace and Aiden Jones each tossed one inning. Shouse allowed the only two hits — singles by Eric Blaszowski and Adam Harrington — in the first inning. Pace and Jones both struck out the side in their respective innings and threw perfect frames.

Harrington, making his first start of the year, took the loss. He gave up four hits, nine runs and five walks in a third of an inning. Ethan Egner and Ayden Moore both made relief performances for the Falcons, who fell to 0-3 overall.

UHA (3-0) will play its fourth game in five days Friday when it hosts regional foe Caldwell County 1-2) at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers fell to Union County 9-7 in eight innings Thursday.
