Last night Kentucky got their NCAA Tournament jitters out of the way with a 61-53 victory over the Providence Friars. Head coach John Calipari has plenty of postseason experience and he has a veteran-heavy team this season. But after last year’s debacle against St. Peter’s and last week’s early exit from the SEC Tournament, there had to be a feeling of relief for Kentucky to get past their first opponent.

Now, with a matchup against Kansas State looming on Sunday, Kentucky can hopefully play a bit more loose and follow the same game plan that earned the Wildcats a win on Friday night.

Antonio Reeves and Jacob Toppin need to be the go-to options on offense with Oscar Tshiebwe cleaning up the boards and everyone else filling in where they can. That’s appeared to be the most efficient method of winning games this season and with the Big Dance being a “win or go home” tournament, the margin for error is zero.

The tip-off time for Kentucky’s matchup with Kansas State on Sunday is scheduled for 2:40 PM ET. In the meantime, enjoy looking back at Kentucky’s win last night.
