This year’s NCAA Tournament has been full of Madness despite the second round not being concluded. No. 1 seeds Purdue and Kansas have fallen while No. 2 seeds Arizona and Virginia have also been sent home. Kentucky hopes to add to that Madness, as they are the “underdog” No. 6 seed on Sunday when they face the No. 3 seed Kansas State Wildcats.

While the seeding may favor Kansas State, oddsmakers don’t seem to think so. Kentucky is a 3-point betting favorite and ESPN’s Basketball Power Index is giving Kentucky a 61.7% chance to win.

Sure, March Madness basketball is much more than analytics where truly anything can happen. But if someone told you a month ago that Kentucky would be a betting favorite over a No. 3 seed in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament, would you believe them?

On Saturday, Kentucky previewed their matchup with KSU – a team that knocked off Baylor, Iowa State, TCU, Kansas, Texas & West Virginia this season.

The team was in good spirits and seemed relieved to get their first tournament game past them. Maybe Kentucky can now go out Sunday afternoon, play loose and have fun playing basketball together.

UK fans may disagree but, at the end of the day, these young players enjoying the tournament and playing the game they love together is what’s most important.

And, since they’re quite talented enough to be one of the top teams in the country, having fun on the court may just lead to a few wins this March.

Tip-off is set for 2:40 PM ET Sunday. In the meantime, check out photos from Saturday’s press conference.
