Friday was not the first time Kentucky has had a lot of NFL personnel on campus for Pro Day. However, there were over 100 executives, coaches and scouts present Friday mainly to watch quarterback Will Levis.

“We have been gaining traction over the past few years and getting people (to come to Pro Day),” Stoops said Friday. “It has been a fun week. We had a lot of ex-players and NFL guys back. There’s a lot of buzz going on.”

Most of that buzz was generated by Levis, a projected top 10 draft pick. The SEC Network showed every pass Levis threw and had a bevy of analysts scrutinizing everything he did. The NFL Network was watching along with a mass of media members.

“He is going to be in a great situation. There are some very good football players (quarterbacks) out there that we respect,” Stoops said on the Paul Finebaum Show on the SEC Network. “Just let everybody do their job and at the end of day Will will be put in a good station.

“I think he is going to go high (in the draft). How high I don’t really know, but I am sure he will be successful. Wherever Will goes he will be successful. He did nothing today that can hurt him. He did outstanding.”

Stoops is confident Levis will be a top 10 pick and will have a “great opportunity” to succeed in the NFL.

“Someone is going to get a heck of a football player and even more impressive person, someone that is going to help the organization and be a face they can build the organization around,” Stoops said.

“He is just a great person. I can’t say enough good things about him and thank him for what he has done for us. He will be in a good situation. I am not worried about Will because he has done too much work for too long.

“What he did today, in  my opinion, is not going to matter. When you watch him throw, nobody can criticize that. The power he has, the size he has, the leadership skills he has, he is going to be successful.”
