Ben Goodaker struck out 14 and allowed just two base hits as Caldwell County rolled to a 15-1 win at Crittenden County on Monday.
Goodaker surrendered just one unearned run and walked one in a complete game effort. He is now 3-0 this season.
Caldwell staked Goodaker to a 4-0 lead before he even took the mound in the bottom of the first inning.
The Tigers (3-3) finished off the triumph with a nine-run seventh inning.
Ari Wells drove in six of Caldwell’s runs, going 2-for-5 at the plate with a double and triple.
Wells had a bases-clearing triple as part of Caldwell’s four-run first. He doubled home the last two runs of the game in the seventh.
Caldwell’s other two runs came in the fifth inning.
Crittenden (1-4) got its only run in the bottom fo the fourth.
The Tigers outhit the Rockets 11-2.
Hunter Newsom was 2-for-4 for Caldwell with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in. Jamus Carneyhan went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Carter Whittington and Luke Parker each finished 2-for-4 and drove in a run.
Goodaker now has a career pitching mark of 15-4. He has tied Carrell Boyd for seventh on the Tigers’ all-time list for pitching wins.
Caldwell has won its last two matchups and now leads the series 82-24.
The Tigers are off until Thursday when they host Carlisle County.
