Caldwell Softball Sweeps District Tilts from Dawson Springs

The Caldwell County Lady Tigers made quick work of 7th District rival Dawson Springs on Tuesday.

In a pair of three-inning contests, the Lady Tigers swept a doubleheader by scores of 15-0 and 18-0.

Caldwell is now 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the district.

The Lady Tigers scored 14 runs in the first inning of the opener.

Caldwell had just one hit in the contest, but took advantage of 19 walks and a hit batter to put 15 runs on the scoreboard.

Harper Holeman singled for the Lady Tigers’ lone safety.

Jackie Farmer no-hit Dawson to pick up the win in the pitching circle. She struck out three and walked one.

Dawson Springs was the “home” team in game two but Caldwell put up 10 runs in the top of the first inning.

A five-run second and three-run third made it 18-0.

Caldwell recorded three base hits in that game. Maci Tyler was 2-for-3 with four runs batted in. Tink Clark had a single.

Sydney Glisson was the winning pitcher, tossing the first two innings and allowing just one base hit. She struck out three and walked two.

Kelei Perrin pitched the third inning, striking out two without allowing a baserunner.

Ava Ward had a single for the Lady Panthers, who are now 0-7 and 0-4.

Caldwell has won its last 17 matchups against Dawson on the softball diamond.

The Lady Tigers next host Webster County on Thursday.
