Colonels Finish 9th at Calloway With Slim Roster

With several people taking advantage of spring break, the Christian County Colonels finished in ninth place at Saturday’s Calloway County Laker Invitational.

Despite a roster that was less than full, several Colonels put together personal bests.

The Colonels finished in ninth place with 27 points, which was 16 points behind eighth-place Paducah Tilghman.

SPRINTS

Zamien Matlock ran a personal-best time of 11.76 seconds to place sixth in the 100-meter dash and added a PR in the 200 meters to finish in ninth place in 24.34.

Jayvion Hawkins finished in sixth place in the 200 meters in 23.9 and was 10th in the 100 meters in 11.93 seconds.

Wyatt Fleming was 14th in the 400-meter dash in 58.34 seconds.

Hector Munoz was ninth in the 800 meters in a time of 2:21.22, which was a personal best time for him.  Alex Hale ran a 2:25.42 to finish in 17th place.

MIDDLE DISTANCE

Michael Webb ran a season-best time of 5:10.48 in the 1600 meters to place seventh.

Aiden Knepper ran a personal-best time of 5:51.40 in the 1600 meters to finish in 23rd place. He also had a PR in the 800 meters and came in 27th place.

Wyatt Fleming was 23rd in the 1600 meters in 5:52.44.

FIELD EVENTS

Christopher McCarley finished in second place in the discus throw at 127 feet, three inches. He was in fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 41 feet, 6.5 inches.

Treshawn Crenshaw was 27th in the shot put at 20 feet, 11.25 inches and 29th in the discus throw at 48 feet, 11 inches.

RELAYS

The 3200-meter relay team of Wyatt Fleming, Alex Hale, Michael Webb, and Hector Munoz finished in fourth place in a season-best time of 9:23.37.
