The Webster County Lady Trojans broke open a scoreless pitchers duel with seven runs in their final two at-bats as the Lady Trojans claimed a 7-0 win over the Trigg County Lady Wildcats Monday evening in Dixon. Webster County pitching limited the Lady Wildcats to just two hits over the seven innings.

Trigg County’s Avery Wade and Webster County’s Chloe Papineau were locked up in a battle for the first four innings of the game with neither giving up a run.

Things changed in the bottom of the fifth. A single, an error, and a walk to open the inning opened the door for the Lady Trojans to score three runs. In the bottom of the sixth, Webster County put the game away by opening the inning with an error, a walk, a single, a double, and a triple. By the time Trigg County was able to slow things down, the lead had grown to 7-0.

Papineau then set the Lady Wildcats down in order to close out the game in the seventh.

Emma West and Kiley Slone had the hits for Trigg County.

Avery Wade went the distance in the circle. She was charged with seven runs, but only three of them were earned. She struck out two and walked three.
