Split Colonel Squads Compete at Hoptown Classic

With a split crew Saturday, the Christian County Colonel track and field team finished in seventh place at the Hopkinsville Classic at the Stadium of Champions.

The Colonels scored 26 points to finish three points ahead of eighth place Dawson Springs and 22 points behind sixth place Hopkins County Central.

A partial squad ran at Fort Campbell’s Coach Johnson Memorial Classic earlier in the day.

BOYS

SPRINTS

Iyobosa Ogbes was 16th in the 100-meter dash in a personal best 13 seconds flat.

Antonio Rubio was seventh in the 400 meters in 58.64 seconds (PR) and was 23rd in the 200-meters

Cayden Cline was 10th in the 1600-meter run in 5:36.02 (PR) and was 18th in the 400 meters in 1:04.97.

Eddrecus Williams was 24th in the 100-meter dash in 13.42 seconds and 25th in the 200 meters in 27.82 seconds.

RELAYS

The 800-meter relay team of Abren, Ogbes, Rubio, and Ray was fifth in 1:50.90.

The 400-meter relay team of Williams, McCarley, Ogbes, and Ibrahim was seventh in 55.08 seconds.

FIELD EVENTS

Christopher McCarley finished second in the shot put with a personal best toss of 42 feet, 6.75 inches. He also finished second in the discus throw at 128-01.

Michael DeArmond was 20th in the long jump in 11-02.50.

Christian County’s girls also had a split squad Saturday. They scored 15 points to finish in eighth place.

SPRINTS

Jaseyonia Wilfong was 14th in the 400-meter run in 1:16.72.

Maeby Irving was 18th in the 400 meters in 1:22.49.

Kaliyah Leavell was 18th in the 100-meter dash in 14.61 seconds and 20th in the 200 meters in 31.38 seconds.

Emma Estes was 21st in the 100 meters in 14.95 seconds and 21st in the 200 meters in 31.50 seconds. She was also 12th in the 400-meters in 1:12.63.

Kacsidy Quarles was 23rd in the 100-meter dash in 15.15 seconds and 26th in the 200-meter dash in 32.77 seconds.

MIDDLE DISTANCE

Debony Anderson was seventh in the 800-meter run in 3:06.65.

Maeby Irving was 12th in the 800 meters in 3:16.03.

RELAYS

The 1600-meter relay team was fourth (5:32.24).

The 800-meter relay team was fifth (2:06.35).

The 400-meter relay team finished in sixth place (59.52).
