Josh Harrellson loves playing basketball in Japan.

Even though he’s playing in Japan and is having another remarkable season for a player 34 years old, former Kentucky standout Josh Harrellson still follows the Wildcats all he can.

“Yes, I saw Kentucky had an up and down season. I really hope that they can figure it out and get back on track,” Harrellson said.

Kentucky fans hope so too and odds are the former teammates Harrellson stays in touch with even though he’s playing in Japan feel the same way.

Harrellson’s focus, though, remains on his family and making sure his two children enjoy his experience.

“My children enjoy watching me play but they wish I was around a lot more … which I will be around more soon,” he said even though he’s now scored over 5,000 points during his time in Japan.

Harrellson remains very popular with Kentucky fans. “Jorts” was one of the most lovable players in the Calipari era and he encouraged fans who might want to communicate with him to send a direct message to him on Twitter (@BigJorts55).

“Or they could reach out to you if you are okay with that,” Harrellson said.

Okay with that? Absolutely. So if you have a message you would like to get to Harrellson, just send it my way and I will get it to him.

  1. Josh. I saw you play at Southeastern Illinois college at Harrisburg Illinois. My nephew was Kyle Oldham their 3 point shooter at the time. I told my brother in law that you would be in the pro in the future. You went to Kentucky and my nephew went to Henderson State in Arkansas. I am proud you done so well.

  2. In my opinion his best game was against Ohio. St during the NCAA tournament was one main reason that the cats made it to the final four.
