Hopkinsville High School put a pair of boats in the water at Saturday’s KHSAA Region 1 bass fishing tournament, finishing 57th and 65th out of the 90-plus entrants.
Junior Matthew Balthrop and 8th-grader Isaiah Wood led the Tiger effort with two fish weighing three pounds, 15 ounces.
The second boat, with juniors Dylan Mitchell and Baylen Williams, and alternates Thomas Grise and Caleb Brown, brought in one fish weighing two pounds, seven ounces.
Grayson County’s River Blanton and Braeden Sadler took the region title with five fish weighing in at 16 pounds, three ounces, with a big bass of three pounds, eight ounces.
