While not with the same stakes on the line Tuesday evening, the University Heights Academy Blazers got a measure of revenge against the Crittenden County Rockets. The Blazers used a four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth to come from behind and take a 5-2 win over the Rockets.

The win gets a bit of revenge for the Blazers, who were upended in the 2nd Region All A tournament by the Rockets.

UHA entered the bottom of the sixth trailing 2-1. A Rocket error allowed Ian Tyler to reach base to open the inning. Tyler advanced to third on a single from Jackson Flynn. Nic Luckey singled to drive in Tyler and tie the game at 2-2. Flynn then scored on a fielder’s choice to put the Blazers up 3-2.

Gavin LaRonge then gave the Blazers a bit of breathing room by driving in two more runs with a single to move the lead out to 5-2.

Bryson Turner came in to pitch the seventh inning for the Blazers and closed out the comeback win.

The Blazers had taken a 1-0 lead in the game in the bottom of the third when Gavin LaRonge scored on a fielder’s choice.

The Rockets scored a run in the top of the fourth to tie the game and then another run in the top of the fifth to take the lead.

For the Blazers, Gavin LaRonge led the way going 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Nic Luckey was 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored. The Blazers scored their five runs on seven hits.

Jackson Flynn got the start for the Blazers, going six innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out seven, and walking two.

UHA improves to 12-6 with the win.
