Caldwell County’s girls picked up a pair of wins on the tennis courts in Hopkinsville on Tuesday, defeating University Heights Academy 5-1 and topping Christian County 3-1.
In singles play against UHA, Josie Shaffer defeated Rachel Cavanah 8-1, Ella Johnson blanked Ashton Grace 8-0, Meleah Greenfield fell to Emily Davis 9-8 (7-3), and Troy Freeman handled Isabel Cook 8-4.
In doubles, Rachel McClung and Keegan Miller beat Kate Bennett and Hannah Jane Holland 8-2 while Avery Ritchey and Johnson shut out Grace and Davis 8-0.
In singles action against Christian, Shaffer routed Tori Nicholson 8-0, Bella Stewart bowed to Lacey Paige 8-3, and Greenfield shut out Olivia Jones 8-0.
In the lone doubles match, McClung and Miller beat Nicholson and Jones 8-0.
Next up for the Caldwell tennis team is a home match against Fort Campbell on Thursday.
