Heritage Christian Academy’s Tra Fowler led off with a single in Friday’s matchup with visiting Hopkins County Central and came home on an error for an early Warrior lead.

But that was as good as it got for the Warriors, with Fowler’s triple in the bottom of the 5th the only other hit they would manage against Storm starting pitcher Brantley Harris in a 16-1 defeat.

Harris, an 8th-grader, picked up his first win on the mound after allowing an unearned run on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

The Storm took the lead for good with two runs in the 2nd and gave Harris all the run support he would need with a nine-run 3rd.

Hopkins Central made the most of seven hits and took advantage of nine Warrior errors to earn its fourth win of the season.  Jaden Brasher led the way with three hits and an RBI, and Harris and Gaige Brasher each had a hit and two runs driven in,

Collin Outland took the loss for Heritage, giving up nine runs, two earned, on two hits with four walks and five strikeouts.  Bradley Boyd worked an inning in relief, and Henry Bullard pitched the final inning and two-thirds.

Up next for HCA is a visit from Livingston Central on Saturday.  Hopkins Central has the weekend off before welcoming Webster County to Morton’s Gap on Monday.
