Emma West knew what career path she wanted to take, but she also wanted to combine that with a college softball career.
The Trigg County High School senior signed her letter Friday to play softball at Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio.
West wants to pursue a career in radiology, and Clark State offers the pathway she wants.
Clark State competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
West is batting .303 this season with three extra-base hits and 12 RBI while battling a shoulder injury.
After batting .271 as a sophomore with a home run and 11 RBI, West played at Lyon County her junior season where she hit .382 with three homers and 28 RBI and earned All-District honors.
She is the first Lady Wildcat to sign to play in college in four years.
West and the Lady Wildcats will play in the district tournament Monday with a shot at the district championship and region tournament appearance on the line.
