Caldwell’s Guys Take 3rd in Final Flight Invitational

Caldwell County’s guys finished third when they hosted the Final Flight Invitational on Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Princeton.

Calloway County took the team competition with 173 points. Union County was second with 127 while Caldwell totaled 108 points. Livingston Central was fourth with 60 points while Crittenden County (48) took fifth with Livingston Central (46) sixth.

Cooper Mobley led the Tigers’ day with first-place finishes in the shot put and the discus.

Mobley’s distance of 43 feet even in the shot put was almost 4 feet more than second place. Mobley’s throw of 124 feet, 1 inch in the discus was 6 feet, 9 inches ahead of second.

Daniel Laurent also fared well in those events. He was third in the discus at 115 feet, 1 inch and finished fourth in the shot put at 37 feet, 4 inches.

Jackson Risley was second in the javelin at 97 feet, 3 inches. Mobley was third at 87 feet, 10 inches.

Timothy Nichols finished second in the triple jump at 37 feet, 4 inches. Jamison Stevenson was seventh in that event at 28 feet, 1.25 inches.

Blake Bard took third in the 800-meter run competition in 2:19.88. Blake Lancaster was sixth in 2:23.

Brenton Springfield placed third in the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches.

Blaine Hicks finished fourth in the 1,600 run in 5:27.17.

Stevenson was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 56.94 seconds. Springfield was fifth in 1:00.19.

Tre Copeland placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in 12.10 seconds.

Xzavier Lee was fifth in the long jump at 17 feet, 8.5 inches. Nichols was sixth at 17 feet, 7.75 inches.

Lee finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in 24.41 seconds.

Risley was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.21.

Caldwell’s 4×200 relay team was second in 1:40.08.

The Tigers were also second in the 4×800 relay in 9:54.75.

The Tigers were fourth in the 4×400 in 4:06.88.

Next up for the Caldwell track program is the Class 2A 1st Region meet on Monday, May 22, at Calloway County.
