Emma Dill will be competing at the Class 1A State Track and Field Meet in Lexington in two weeks. She’ll have to wait a few days to see if she has company.
Dill finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.21 seconds and was second in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.81 seconds. Murray’s Layla Green won both races.
The top two finishers at the region automatically advance to the state meet, while the next ten best times/distances statewide also advance.
Aliviah Acree came in third place in the 200-meter dash in 28.43 seconds and finished sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:08.59.
Ajae Oatts was fourth in the 200 meters in 28.88.
Cecelia Langhi came in ninth place in the 800-meter run in 2:55.11.
Alyssa Grise was 11th in the 100-meter dash in 14.71 seconds.
The 1600-meter relay team of Alivia Acree, Emma Dill, Ajae Oatts, and Cecelia Langhi finished third in 4:45.36.
The team of Aliviah Acree, Emma Dill, Alyssa Grise, and Ajae Oatts finished in fourth place in the 800-meter relay in 1:56.90.
As a team, UHA finished a very respectable sixth with 37 points – five points behind fifth-place Fulton County and eight points ahead of Mayfield.
