Dawson Springs Scores Several Top-Three Finishes at Region (w/PHOTOS)

The Dawson Springs will have to play the waiting game to see if several third-place finishes at the Region 1 Meet Thursday will be good to qualify for next week’s state meet in Lexington.

The top two finishers at the region automatically advance to the state meet, while the next ten best times/distances statewide also advance.

HURDLES

Tyler Hale was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 48.17.

MIDDLE DISTANCE

Tyler Hale was third in the 3200 meters (11:09.87).

Lucas Osborne was fifth in the 1600 meters (5:20.75) and Ethan Osborne was sixth (5:27.69). Ethan also finished sixth in the 3200 (11:37.40)

Montgomery Johnston was seventh in the 800 meters (2:15.08).

SPRINTS

Bryden Mann finished 12th place in the 100-meter dash (12.07) and Logan Spurlin 19^th (13.58). Mann was 11^th in the 200 meters (25.19).

Yosiyah McCune was 12^th in the 400 meters (1:01.63) and Jared Jones was 14^th (1:02.25).

Ethan Pacheco was 17^th in the 200 meters (30.36).

RELAYS

The 3200-meter relay team was third (9:01.25).

The 1600-meter relay team was fifth (4:06.28). The 800-meter relay team was sixth in 1:46.19.

FIELD EVENTS

Casey Fain was fourth in the discus throw (76-09) and Logan Halverson was sixth (80-09). Fain also finished 10^th in the shot put (36-05.50) and Halverson was 13^th (31-06).

Lucas Osborne and Casey Fain tied for seventh place in the high jump (5-04).

Bryden Mann was ninth in the triple jump (32-11).

As a team, the Panthers placed eighth with 23 points, one point behind Crittenden County.

GIRLS

Audrey McCoy tied for third in the high jump at 4 feet 6 inches. She was also fourth in the 1600-meter run in 6:13.39 and seventh in the 800 meters (2:48.59).

HURDLES

Kimberly Hoover finished in seventh place in the 300-meter hurdles in 59.74 seconds.

FIELD EVENTS

Aryana Pacheco finished in eighth place in the shot put (24-01) and Alexis Hunter was 14^th (21-06).

Samarah Coggins placed 10^th in the long jump (10-09).

Eryn Sizemore came in 13^th place in the discus throw (55-11) and Mackenzie Creekmur was 14^th (55-01).

SPRINTS

Samarah Coggins finished 16^th in the 100-meter run (15.97) and Kimberly Hoover was 21^st (17.34). Coggins was also 14^th in the 400 meters (1:17.16) and 14^th in the 200-meter dash (34.42).

As a team, Dawson Springs placed 11^th with nine points.
