Kentucky golfer Jensen Castle had already made it clear she was going to return for her extra season but now senior teammates María Villanueva Aperribay and Marissa Wenzler have also decided to take their COVID-19 season.

The three along with rising senior Laney Frye and recent graduate Ivy Shepherd had a record-setting season that broke 11 school records last season.

Kentucky won two tournament titles last season and should be in position for another strong season with the three seniors and Lane returning to go with  rising junior Marta López Echevarría, rising sophomore Abigail Sutherland and incoming freshmen Cathryn Brown and Brooke Oberparleite.

Brown was one of the state’s best high school golfers the last two seasons at Lyon County and seems to be getting better every year. When her high school season ended she noted she was ready to go to UK then so she could be pushed daily in practice to improve her game.
