Emma Talley is tied for fifth after one round at the Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J.
Talley fired a 3-under-par 69 in the opening round Thursday at this week’s event on the LPGA Tour.
The Caldwell County grad is just four shots behind leader Lauren Hartlage, who blistered the course for a 7-under 65.
Talley had four birdies and a bogey in the first round.
She birdied Nos. 4, 5, 9 and 10 to get to 4-under before a bogey on 17 dropped her back to 3-under.
Talley will have an early tee time for the second round on Friday. She will start her day at 8:43 a.m. Eastern time on the No. 10 tee box.
