Lady Rebels Rally for Five-Set Win at Franklin-Simpson

For a time Tuesday night, it appeared as if the 2023 volleyball season was going to get off to a rocky start for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. Then, they found a way to turn things around. After trailing two sets to none, the Lady Rebels battled their way back and won a five-set match over the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats.

The first set was all Franklin-Simpson, as the Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-14 win. The Lady Rebels put up a fight in the second set before falling 25-22 to go down two sets in the match.

Then things turned in the direction of the Lady Rebels. Todd County Central took the third set in a battle, 26 to 24. The fourth set also went to the Lady Rebels 25-20.

The Lady Rebels then capped off the comeback with a 16-14 win in the final set to claim the match three sets to two.

Lynnlee Jones had a big night for the Lady Rebels with 14 kills. Allyssa Wofford added 10 kills and two service aces.

Chloe Willis added 14 assists in the match. Shelby Holderman had 10.

Todd County Central opens the season at 1-0 and now gets ready for Saturday’s 4th Region All A Classic at Metcalfe County. They will open play against Russellville. The Lady Rebels are the defending 4th Region All A champions.
