The Christian County Lady Colonels experienced the dam bursting in the second half of its Thursday match against Apollo.

Down 3-0 at halftime, Jolie Foster and Kara Green combined for six goals in the second half to lead Apollo to a 9-0 win over the Lady Colonels at the Stadium of Champions.

Foster also had three assists, and Green assisted on two others. Foster finished with four goals.

“For us right now, we’re playing really undisciplined. We kind of want to do things our own way. We don’t want to go to our spots. We don’t want to be in the right spots. So that gets us fatigued. It gets us gassed. And then we want to just play the long balls everywhere,” Lady Colonels Coach Peyton Moshier said.

Christian County was outshot 23-3 with 15 of Apollo’s shots coming in the second half.

Apollo improved to 7-8 which includes a win over Hopkinsville and a loss to University Heights.

“In order to play the best, we’ve got to beat the best. And that comes with stepping on the field every night against these really solid teams. Unfortunately for us right now, we aren’t playing well and that’s causing us to get exposed,” Moshier said.

Christian County (4-8) will play at Allen County-Scottsville on Saturday.
