A big defensive effort was the order of the day for the Christian County Lady Colonels. They traveled to Elizabethtown and handled business in a big way, routing Casey County 64-31 in preseason action.
The Lady Colonels jumped out to a 22-4 first-quarter lead and rolled on from there. The score at the break was 34-10.
Led by big quarters from Lazarie Daniel and Anaysia Bagwell, Christian County put up 25 points in the third quarter and ran the lead out to 59-22.
Daniel and Bagwell finished the scrimmage with 27 points each. Daniel added 7 steals, 3 rebounds, and two assists, while Bagwell added 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and three assists.
NeVaeh Day chimed in with 7 points, 7 rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Coach Kiki Radford said she was pleased with the energy level of her team during the scrimmage win.
