Kentucky’s 75-74 loss at LSU on Wednesday was tough to swallow.
The game was a late tip, Antonio Reeves and Rob Dillingham combined to score 48 points, Kentucky was coming off a momentum-building win at Auburn and the start of the SEC Tournament was officially three weeks away.
Kentucky is now 18-8 on the season and 3-4 in their last seven games with each of those four losses coming by less than 10 points. They’ll next face red-hot Alabama on Saturday in their return to Rupp Arena.

Bama starts 4 seniors and has plenty of size even with the suspension. Oats will coach circles around Calipari. He played a tough non conference schedule and took some early losses, but he forged a team that is built for March for real. Not sure if Mitchell is ready and it may be better for him to wait until Miss State to come back. That will be a must win game as well as Arkansas if we have ANY hope of getting a double bye in the SEC tourney. Bama and Tennessee aren’t going to choke like Auburn did.
If Oats can build a TEAM that doesn’t depend on OAD, why can’t Calipari? The answer is simple…Calipari has to rely on talent to cover up his deficiencies as a coach.
