Hopkinsville High’s Shiyah Forte has been voted the Second Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.
The senior forward averages 14 points and 12 rebounds a game while playing in every game for the Lady Tigers. She averaged 12 points last year but only played in 12 games due to injury.
Forte has signed to continue her basketball career at Southwestern Michigan College.
The award, given to eligible senior players, means Forte gets an automatic nomination for Kentucky Miss Basketball and receives an invite to try out for the Kentucky All-Star team that annually plays Indiana.
