
The Trigg County Arrowcats shot their three highest scores of the season in their final three meets, finishing 31st out of 145 schools at the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) State Tournament in Louisville on Saturday.
Their score of 3,291 was third-best this season behind only the 3,307 shot at the Arrowcat Classic on March 23.
Senior Trevor Hoy matched a personal-best score of 294 to finish in third place out of 1,462 archers at the event. He finished in 25th place at last year’s NASP State Tournament.
In eight events this season, Hoy’s average score was 286. Hoy shot a 294 at two events last year.
Hoy’s third-place finish at NASP State was the highest for an Arrowcat since Audrey Smith finished third in 2021. Clay Stevens also finished third in 2017.
Madison Fears was the top female shooter for Trigg County with a score of 286, also a career-best score for the sophomore. She finished in 36th place.
Senior Aurora Ives, who will shoot in the KHSAA Girls State Tournament later this month in Lexington, shot 282 to finish 93rd.

On March 23 at the Arrowcat Classic at Wildcat Gym, Trigg County shot a score of 3,307 to finish in third place.
Trevor Hoy shot a 293 to win the individual title, while Clayton Litchfield shot a 284 to finish in fourth place.
Madison Fears’ score of 283 was good for eighth place, while Aurora Ives shot a 278 to claim 16th place.
