Caldwell Track Teams Take 2nd at McCracken Meet

Caldwell County’s track teams each placed second on Tuesday in a nine-team meet at McCracken County.

Caldwell’s boys ended the day with 103 points — second behind only host McCracken’s 162 points. Union City took third with 76 points.

Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers totaled 79 points. McCracken placed first in the girls’ competition with 150 points. Union City was third with 72.5.

Cooper Mobley claimed a pair of first-place finishes for Caldwell’s guys. He won the shot put with a thorw of 45 feet, 9 inches. He also took the discus with a distance of 141 feet, 3 inches.

Meanwhile, Daniel Laurent was second in the discus at 127 feet, 1 inch, and finished third in the shot put at 39 feet.

Alexander Sample was sixth in the shot put at 32 feet, 8 inches and also took sixth in the discus at 85 feet.

Max Heaton took second in the pole vault at 10 feet, which is a Caldwell school record. He was also second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 45.83 seconds.

Caldwell’s Timothy Nichols was fourth in the triple jump at 39 feet, 0.75 inches.

Shane Fairrow placed third in the 100-meter dash in 11.71 seconds. Luke Maddox was fourth in that event in 11.86 seconds.

Fairrow was fifth in the 200 dash in 23.67 seconds and Maddox was sixth in 23.87 seconds.

Caldwell’s 4×100-meter relay team was second in 45.62 seconds.

The 4×400 relay team of Timothy Nichols, Max Heaton, Tre Copeland and Xzavier Lee was second in 3:43.23, which is a school record time.

For Caldwell’s girls, Benashka Thomas was first in the shot put at 27 feet, 9.5 inches. Keirli Herran was sixth in that event at 25 feet, 5 inches.

Herran also took third in the discus at 83 feet, 7 inches.

Medeline Thomas won the 400-meter dash competition in 1:08.61.

Avery Wells ran a 26.46 time in the 200-meter dash, which is the third-fastest time in Class A this season. She placed second in that event.

T.J. Goodwin placed third in the pole vault, clearing 6 feet, 6 inches. She was sixth in the triple jump at 29 feet, 2.5 inches.

Jordan Ortt finished fifth in the 300 hurdles in 56.36 seconds.

Haley Dalton placed sixth in the 100-meter dash in 13.82 seconds.

Caldwell was second in the 4×100 relay in 52.52 seconds.

The Lady Tigers were also second in the 4×400 relay in 4:46.49.

Caldwell will next host a Senior Night meet on Tuesday at Tiger Stadium in Princeton.
