This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of May 20 is University Heights Academy’s Chayse Gilliland. Chayse was selected based on her performance in the Lady Blazers’ 8th District softball tournament win over Fort Campbell.
Gilliland homered, doubled, and drove in four runs to help UHA advance to the district championship game and to the 2nd Region softball Tournament. It was University Heights’ first appearance in the 8th District final since 2021 and third time overall since 2017.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game or event for their team that week.
