The Christian County Colonels closed out the soccer preseason by winning their second scrimmage in as many nights. For the second night in a row, the Colonels got off to a good start and then made it stand up as they took a 3-1 win over Owensboro Catholic at the Stadium of Champions.
Noah Davis found the net less than 10 minutes into the match to give the Colonels a 1-0 lead. Alex Hale picked up the assist on the score.
Moments later, at the 12:04 mark, Christian Lopez scored unassisted to push the lead out to 2-0.
Christian County added another goal from Noah Davis late in the half pushing the lead out to 3-0 at the break.
Like the night before, the Colonels would not score in the second half. But, the Colonels continued to keep the defense clamped down on the Aces until the final minute of the match when Owensboro Catholic scored to avoid the shutout.
The Colonels now get ready to open the season next Tuesday night on the road at Franklin-Simpson.
