The Caldwell County Tigers got off to a good start Saturday at Marshall County.

Sutton Ritchey bombed home a free kick from behind the midfield stripe in the 15th minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead in Draffenville.

However, the homestanding Marshals regrouped to take a 3-1 advantage at halftime, and went on to claim a 4-1 victory over the Tigers.

The Marshals are now 2-1 while the Tigers are 0-3 this season.

Caldwell has beaten Marshall just once in 17 tries all-time. That win came in the 2009 season, which also happened to be the last time the two schools met in boys’ soccer.

Caldwell will play again Tuesday when it faces Fort Campbell in a 2nd Region All A Classic matchup. That contest will be played in Eddyville.
