The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm had what you might call an ‘even’ trip to the mountains this weekend. The Lady Storm were in Gatlinburg for the 2024 Smoky Mountain Cup and came away with a win, a loss, and a tie during their appearance in the Mount Kephart Division of the event.
Hopkins County Central got things started with a match against Macon County. The Lady Storm got goals from Jaci Childress and Emma Vandiver on their way to a 2-1 win Friday evening.
The Lady Storm were back at it Saturday morning, matched up against Providence Academy. This one did not go as well for Hopkins County Central as Providence Academy took a 3-0 victory.

Hopkins County Central then concluded their play in the Smoky Mountain Cup with a Saturday afternoon contest against Bradley Central. Both teams struggled to find the net in this one and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Lady Storm were one of ten Kentucky teams taking part in this weekend’s action.
The Lady Storm now head back to the Bluegrass State where they will get back to action Monday evening taking on Murray in the semifinals of the sectional round of the Kentucky 2A championships at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.
