
Christian County put two runners in the top 10 and three in the first 15 which was good for a second place finish at the Colonel Season Opener on Saturday.
Wyatt Fleming and Michael Webb were part of a second group packed together behind the first three runners. Fleming was sixth (18:25) and Webb was seventh (18:41).
Freshman Cayden Cline was 15th in 19:21 over the 3.1-mile course.
Rex Taggart came in 28th place for the Colonels in 20:59, followed by Nolan Long in 34th place (21:22) and Hector Munoz in 64th place (23:02).
University Heights Academy’s Cole Glover won the race in 17:20.
Christian County totaled 71 points to finish in second place – two points behind Dawson Springs and two points ahead of Murray.
The Colonel runners stayed fairly close together with their first through sixth runners separated by 2:57.
