
The Christian County Colonels are now officially on an early season roll. The Colonel defense came up with its 4th straight shutout as the Colonels rolled to a big 4-0 district win over the Fort Campbell Falcons Tuesday night at the Stadium of Champions.
Not only did the Colonels throw a shutout, they did not allow the Falcons a shot on goal. Christian County ended up with 17 shots on goal for the night.
Christian County got on the road at 26:35 when Zamien Matlock scored off an assist from Christian Lopez to make it 1-0.
Less than 8 minutes later, Erwin Macario found the net off an assist from Alex Hale to push the lead out to 2-0. That would be the margin as the two teams headed off to the break.
Early in the second half, Leland Creamer scored his third goal of the season, this one coming off the second assist of the night from Christian Lopez to make it a 3-0 score.
Just 23 seconds later the Colonels struck again. Christian Lopez got his third assist of the night sending a pass to Noah Davis, who then located the back of the net to seal the win at 4-0.
Lopez’s three assists give him four for the season.
The Colonels improve to 5-1 on the season. In their five wins, the Colonels have allowed just one goal. Up next is the annual Boots and Butts event Saturday at the Stadium. The Colonels are set to have matches against Franklin County and Danville.
With the loss, Fort Campbell falls to 1-3-1. The Falcons are now off until September 5 when they go on the road to Trigg County.
