The Fort Campbell boys’ soccer team didn’t need the full 80 minutes on Thursday to pick up its first 8th-District win of the season. The Falcons got six goals from Dylan McDonald and finished off visiting Heritage Christian Academy 9-1 with 15 minutes remaining.
Mateo Cerritos-Gatto added a goal for the Falcons and provided three assists, and Samuel Atoubi and Ryan Brewer also found the back of the net.
Jesse Denoto and Miguel Oranday set up goals for the Falcons, and goalkeeper John Arnold made three saves.
Fort Campbell improved to 4-4-1, 1-2 in district play, ahead of a trip to Hopkinsville on Monday to face University Heights Academy. The Blazers topped the Falcons 1-0 earlier this season in the All “A” Region championship match.
Heritage Christian slipped to 1-8-1, 0-3 against district competition. The Warriors are off until next Thursday, when they head to Russellville for three matches in the Panther Classic.
