Todd County Central’s Noah Rager finished in a tie for 22nd on Monday in the Region 3 tournament at Indian Hills Country Club, missing qualification for the KHSAA State Tournament by a single stroke after losing out in a playoff for the final spot.
Teeing off to start the day on number 11, Rager had a pair of double bogeys and a bogey over the first three holes before a birdie on the par three 15th helped him make the turn at +4.
Consecutive birdies on the second and third holes on the back gave him some momentum, but a pair of doubles and two bogeys over the final six holes left him at +8 79.
Allen County-Scottsville’s Barton Rutledge shot a -4 67 to take the region title after topping Greenwood’s Layton Richey on the first hole of a playoff.
Greenwood won the team title with four fewer strokes than 2nd-place Bowling Green. The Rebels finished 13th with 365 strokes.
Cole Monroe was next for Todd Central in a tie for 53rd with a +18 89. Ethan Harris and Brett Harris finished one stroke apart in 72nd and 73rd, and Devin Schutt rounded out the scoring for the Rebels in a tie for 79th.
